June 2001 Meeting Pictures
- mvc-436s.jpg (32337 bytes) - Erik Kauppi entered this bot into the Pylon Contest. It actually detects the IR signal from the electronic pylon. But it couldn't reverse one track so was unable to execute the turn. Next month Erik promises to use a Y2MD motor driver so his tracks will run in reverse and he'll make that turn!
- mvc-437s.jpg (43739 bytes) - The newest addition to the "Jeep" collection. Keith took this one home to begin his new robot.
- mvc-438s.jpg (29817 bytes) - One of the kids brought this programable car. He even entered it in the "Pylon Contest"!
- mvc-439s.jpg (44030 bytes) - Jay's "Jeep-Bot" with worm-gear steering and a pair of relays (to control steering) taped onto the top. Note the aligator clips... a relay driver transistor blew just before contest time so a replacement had to be scabbed in. It managed to drive out to the pylon, detected the pylon with an IRODS detector, but turned 270 degrees instead of the needed 180 and proceeded to drive through the crowd and into the wall :-( A little 'fix' to the software timing is in order...
- mvc-440s.jpg (48309 bytes) - One of the other kids brought this nice programable robot. A very impressive piece of hardware.
- mvc-441s.jpg (24542 bytes) - The winning bot, once again. He was the ONLY one to finish the course without incident... and he added some nice new features as well...
- mvc-442s.jpg (27926 bytes) - Nice design with lots of room to develope new features.
- mvc-443s.jpg (29123 bytes) - The WINNER with its prize money.
